About

The Park Studios curates and creates spaces for local artists, centering BIPOC creatives across music, visual arts, and cultural preservation. Rooted in Hip-Hop and Afro-diasporic sounds, we support genres including, but not limited to, Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, R&B, House, Funk, Afrobeat, and Reggae.

Beyond music, we collaborate with visual artists to produce immersive installations and create opportunities for BIPOC artists to showcase their work. Through our curation and programming, we strive to foster community, creativity, and collaboration.

Founded by Janay Pina and Saulo Castillo, The Park Studios is based in Providence, RI, and exists as a reflection of the vibrant community we come from and serve.

Mission

Our mission at The Park Studios PVD is to support and promote BIPOC artists by creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, professional development, and creative advancement. We do this by:

  • Curating events that showcase and pay all participating artists

  • Providing programming for musicians, visual artists, and curators

  • Supporting BIPOC-led storytelling and artistic preservation

  • Developing pathways for sync licensing, grant writing, and career growth

While we work toward securing a permanent studio space, we are actively piloting programs through our partner organizations.

Vision

We envision The Park Studios as a permanent home for BIPOC artistsβ€”a space where creators can develop their craft, sustain their careers, and archive their contributions to culture.

To achieve this, we are:

  • Building a multimedia studio for music production, videography, and creative documentation

  • Offering accessible programming for artists at all career stages

  • Creating a pipeline of support through mentorship, networking, and funding opportunities

  • Upholding best practices in curation and ethics while inspiring future curators and cultural leaders

The Park Studios is committed to preserving Afro-diasporic arts and culture while shaping the future of music, visual storytelling, and creative expression.
